Local Hispanic and Latinx community leaders honored


Continuing an annual tradition, Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer honored local Hispanic and Latinx leaders at the 9th annual leadership awards.

More than 150 people attended the celebration at Thalia Spanish Theater earlier this week.

State Senator-elect Jessica Ramos was given the Distinguished Public Service Award.

  • Ruben Ramales, Managing Director at American Institute of Architects Queens
  • Adolfo Steve Vazquez, Founder of Queenscapes
  • Claudia Corcino, Founder of Ciclistas Latinoamericanos de New York
  • Felix Figueroa, Shop Steward at Local 32BJ SEIU
