Participatory budgeting in District 26 underway

PB English

The sixth year of participatory in District 26, which includes LIC, Sunnyside and Woodside, is now underway.

Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer is committing a minimum of $1 million to projects that receive the most votes from residents. In the last cycle, his office funded $2.05 million for five projects.

Here’s the schedule for the rest of the neighborhood assemblies, which are community residents where residents brainstorm capital project ideas.

  • Tuesday, September 24, 6 p.m. at Sunnyside Library (43-06 Greenpoint Avenue)
  • Wednesday, September 25, 6 p.m. at Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement (10-25 41st Avenue)
  • Thursday, September 26, 6 p.m. at Woodside Community Center (50-19 Broadway)
  • Monday, September 30, 6 p.m. at Hunters Point Library (47-40 Center Boulevard)

Residents can also share their ideas online here.
