The Veterans Memorial at John Vincent Daniels Park in Woodside was cleaned up earlier this week, thanks to the effort of Fedcap and Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer.
The monument is dedicated to a Woodside native who lost his life in the final days of World War I in 1918. The memorial had been defaced over the weekend.
“The defamation of a monument to those who have served our country is a disgrace that I will not accept,” Van Bramer said. “The minute a constituent reached out to my office and alerted me to the situation, I made sure this monument was cleaned and restored as quickly as possible.”
